What happened

The State Administration for Market Regulation (Standardization Administration) has released more than 2,800 national standards so far this year. Over 1,400 of them address emerging industries, accounting for about half of the total and providing substantial support for the growth of new quality productive forces.

Within emerging fields, next-generation information technology and new materials each passed the 300-standard mark. Named examples include rules for multimodal data formats in brain-computer interfaces and for grading the intelligence levels of AI terminals, described as frontier markers for the information technology industry, plus standards for high-strength crack-arrest steel plates used in ships and for polyacrylonitrile-based oxidized fibers that promoted new material industrialization.

High-end equipment manufacturing added more than 200 standards, among them specifications for magnetic direct-drive conveying systems and safety requirements for combined driving assistance in intelligent connected vehicles. New energy and energy conservation/environmental protection each released more than 100 standards, including electric vehicle and power battery safety requirements referred to as the strictest ever and framed as a direct response to public safety concerns. Energy consumption limits for formaldehyde production and water-use quotas for the Yellow River Basin were linked to cleaner skies, water, and air. Aerospace received standards such as mechanical interface requirements for flat-panel stacked satellite launch vehicles to meet urgent sector needs.
