Changde Technology Cuts IPO Raise by 40% and Amends Accounting Errors Days Before BSE Hearing

What happened

Beijing Stock Exchange's 83rd review meeting is scheduled for Sept 4, 2026, to consider the IPO of Changde New Materials Technology. The company first filed with the Shenzhen Stock Exchange's main board in July 2022 seeking 1.169 billion yuan, was accepted for review in September 2023, responded to a second round of inquiry in January 2024, and then withdrew the application on July 1, 2024, with sponsor CSC Financial, prompting Shenzhen to end the review.

Ahead of the BSE hearing, Changde made two notable adjustments. On Aug 19, 2026, its board voted to cancel a working-capital supplement project and a multi-product line expansion project, reducing planned fundraising from 500 million yuan to 296 million yuan, a drop of roughly 40%. On Aug 25, ten days before the hearing, the board approved accounting-error corrections covering 2024, the first half of 2025, the full year 2025, and the first half of 2026, while saying the corrections do not affect the main financial data for those periods.

The filing also shows a profit squeeze. Revenue rose from 1.064 billion yuan in 2023 to 1.555 billion yuan in 2024, up 46.14%, and to 1.601 billion yuan in 2025, up just 2.96%. Net profit attributable to the parent was 79.7653 million yuan, 71.469 million yuan and 86.7585 million yuan over the same years, with 2024 profit falling 10.4%. Overall gross margin slid from 35.21% in 2022 to 19.91% in 2023 and 12.28% in 2025, partly because newer products such as ethyl acetate and polyether amine have been operating at very thin margins.

Why it matters

Changde's case shows the gap between revenue scale and sustainable profitability. Growth has been driven largely by low-margin products, while net profit has stagnated and gross margin has fallen sharply. The company also depends heavily on Sinopec, with raw and auxiliary material purchases from Sinopec accounting for 75.64%, 82.05% and 69.65% of total such purchases in the reported periods, including some core raw materials supplied through adjacent pipeline from Hunan Petrochemical.

The last-minute fundraising cut and accounting-error disclosure may heighten governance scrutiny. That is particularly notable because the company approved a 34.9699 million yuan cash dividend days before its initial filing audit cutoff, while it had also planned to use 77 million yuan of IPO proceeds for working capital. Removing that project and shrinking the raise could be seen as a response to such concerns.

Key facts

Changde Technology reduced planned IPO proceeds from 500 million yuan to 296 million yuan, dropping the working-capital supplement and multi-product line expansion projects.

Gross margin fell from 35.21% in 2022 to 19.91% in 2023 and 12.28% in 2025.

Purchases of raw and auxiliary materials from Sinopec represented 75.64%, 82.05% and 69.65% of total such purchases in the reported periods.

What to watch next

Whether the BSE listing committee approves Changde's IPO despite accounting-error corrections made just ten days before the hearing.

Whether the company can restore gross margins and reduce reliance on low-margin products and Sinopec supply.

Whether special investment clauses with Sinopec Capital, including a repurchase trigger if the company is not listed by Dec 31, 2029, come into play.

Yuegangwan Intelligent Computing's 2026 Interim: Tenfold Revenue Growth and a 'Token Factory' Roadmap

What happened

For the first half of 2026, Yuegangwan Intelligent Computing reported revenue of approximately RMB 2.56 billion, a year-on-year jump of around 1,020.9%. Net profit reached roughly RMB 281 million, about five times the prior year's full-year profit of approximately RMB 56 million, with the company stressing that the gain came from high-margin core AI operations rather than extraordinary items.

AI-related business generated 93.1% of total revenue, and AI compute technical services alone brought in about RMB 1.52 billion at a gross margin of 35.5%. Management describes the company as a 'large AI intelligent computing technology service provider and ecosystem building platform,' aiming to become a 'Super Token Factory' that increases token output per watt of electricity through a self-developed 'Quantum Pai' scheduling platform for cross-region, cross-chip and cross-cloud heterogeneous compute.

The company's order book reached more than RMB 37 billion in intended orders, with delivered and stable billing scale surpassing RMB 20 billion. It also runs an FP16 dense compute cluster above 50,000 PFLOPS, has received over RMB 1 billion from state-backed investors, and is pushing toward a 100,000-card-scale cluster while expanding into applications such as the 'Lingzhi' AI comic drama platform.

Why it matters

The sharp rise in revenue and margin suggests that compute providers can move beyond selling cabinets or raw GPU hours. With GPU utilization in China's intelligent computing cloud market below 30%, Yuegangwan's bet is that standardized, per-token services can make fragmented heterogeneous resources more efficient and more commercially viable. Its high gross margin and multi-year order backlog show a path from heavy infrastructure investment to operationally leveraged profitability.

The company's strategy also ties scale to financing power: state capital, large credit lines and lower borrowing costs form the foundation for its next expansion stage. However, the same ambition magnifies execution risk. The report explicitly highlights the challenge of building and operating a 100,000-card cluster, potential supply-chain disruption from overseas geopolitics, and the speed of AI technology evolution as factors that could affect the story.

Key facts

In 2026 H1, revenue rose about 1,020.9% year on year to roughly RMB 2.56 billion, and profit reached about RMB 281 million.

AI business accounted for 93.1% of revenue, with AI compute services revenue of about RMB 1.52 billion and a 35.5% gross margin.

Intended orders stood above RMB 37 billion, stable billed scale exceeded RMB 20 billion, and the FP16 dense compute cluster surpassed 50,000 PFLOPS.

What to watch next

Whether Yuegangwan can deliver on the move to 100,000-card scale without eroding utilization rates or gross margin.

How overseas expansion in Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia progresses, including the use of Hong Kong's 'super connector' role and exposure to geopolitical supply chain risk.

Peskov: No Basis Seen for Russia-Europe Relations Improvement

What happened

On August 29, Russian presidential press secretary Peskov told reporters that he currently sees no basis for improving relations between Russia and Europe.

He said European politicians maintain a confrontational stance toward Russia both in their statements and in their practical actions.

At the same time, he reaffirmed that Russia remains open to holding a dialogue with European partners.

Why it matters

The remark signals that the current rift between Moscow and European capitals is unlikely to narrow soon, as both sides appear entrenched in opposing positions.

Peskov's repeated mention of openness to dialogue could suggest Russia wants to leave diplomatic doors ajar even while describing the relationship as stuck.

If no basis for improvement exists, future engagement may remain limited to crisis management rather than broader cooperation.

Key facts

Peskov is the Russian presidential press secretary.

He made the statement on August 29.

He said there is currently no basis for improving Russia-Europe relations.

He stated that European politicians are confrontational toward Russia in both words and actions.

He reiterated that Russia is open to dialogue.

What to watch next

Whether any European leader signals a shift from the current confrontational approach, which could alter Peskov's assessment.

Whether Russia's stated openness to dialogue leads to concrete diplomatic moves or remains a rhetorical position.

Sungrow Expects Explosive Growth in AIDC and Energy Storage Businesses

What happened

During an institutional phone exchange on August 28, Sungrow said it has high hopes for its AIDC business, pointing to rapid growth in the global data center system power supply market and a shift toward high-voltage direct current.

The company said SST growth certainty is strong, and that AIDC paired with energy storage is on the eve of a surge. It noted that demand currently centers on meeting AIDC grid-connection queue needs, with load smoothing, arbitrage, and connection capacity optimization expected to emerge later.

Sungrow said its accumulated layout and experience across AIDC, renewable energy, storage with AIDC, and independent storage positions the company for explosive growth in related business.

Why it matters

The comments signal that Sungrow views AIDC-related power infrastructure and storage as a major growth engine, not just a side opportunity. The shift toward high-voltage DC and the expected evolution of storage use cases could reshape demand patterns for power supply and energy storage vendors.

If the predicted surge materializes, Sungrow's broad positioning across renewable energy, storage, and AIDC power systems could give it competitive advantages as data center grid integration becomes more complex.
